Dermal Fillers
How long does the treatment take?
The dermal filler treatment can be delivered in approximately half an hour, which means reducing your wrinkles needn't take up much of your day. The actual injection process is generally kept to between 15 and 20 minutes and the results are visible straight away. With your first treatment, you'll find the results last between six and nine months. You can repeat the treatment so that your new youthful appearance will last as long as you like.
How does Juvederm Ultra differ from other treatments, such as Botox?
Our treatment works in a different way from other wrinkle reducing treatments such as Botox. Your skin naturally produces hyaluronic acid (HA) when you are young, which keeps the skin hydrated and elastic. Juvederm mimics the affects of HA, meaning you benefit from reduced facial lines, acne scars and increased plumpness. The treatment works most successfully on 'static' or permanent facial lines, which are still visible even when your face is not moving. These types of static lines can be caused by a number of factors, including sun damage, smoking or just genetics.

HA is natural and long lasting and therefore the perfect substance to use for dermal filling.

Does it hurt?
As with any type of injection, there may be some discomfort, although a particularly fine needle is used. The addition of local anaesthetic to Juvederm Ultra significantly eases the process and means that our treatment is less painful than other types of fillers. There are a range of fillers available and your practitioner will be able to discuss these with you.
What can I expect following treatment?
Results are evident immediately. Straight after treatment, the softening of facial lines, wrinkles and scars is clear. Some swelling and reddening may appear as a temporary side effect, but this should fade quite quickly.
When will I see the results?
Usually on the second day, though it can take up to around 14 days for the complete results to be show.
Is Juvéderm Ultra and Botox the same?
No, these treatments are different from each other and the way in which they work vary. Botox relaxes the muscles that cause the appearance of lines and wrinkles, while Juvéderm Ultra works by filling lines and plumping the skin. Juvéderm Ultra smoothes away and fills deep facial lines you can see when your face is still and lost volume caused by smoking, sun damage, ageing and your genetics. This can also be used to add volume to cheeks or lips. Botox - works in a way that targets the tiny dynamic muscles that can cause frown lines and relaxes them.
As we grow older, the underlying tissues which give our skin a plump, youthful appearance tend to break down, resulting in laughter lines and crow's feet.Crow's feet, the lines surrounding the eyes and forehead creases can be treated by our dermal fillers. Cheek fillers can make a dramatic difference to your appearance, giving you a very natural and attractive result.
Cheek fillers also add volume where it matters, leaving you with a fresh, youthful look.
